What is it?
Alabama Rot can affect any breed and age of dog and has an 80% mortality rate! Currently, the cause of this disease remains unknown, which makes it very difficult to fight. In the UK, to date, there have been 122 confirmed cases of Alabama rot all around the country!
What are the symptoms?
Early symptoms include red skin and open ulcers that are predominantly on the lower legs, abdomen and chest. Sadly, if this disease is not detected early it can lead to sudden and fatal renal failure. Other symptoms that are associated with this condition include vomiting, fever, anorexia and lethargy.
